In the past, if you were looking to replace a missing tooth or teeth, there weren’t many good options. Usually, replacing teeth involved wearing a removable prosthesis, or shaving down existing teeth adjacent to the gap and placing a fixed bridge. Modern implant dentistry has evolved, however, and dental implants can now be used to fill in missing tooth space without making modifications to other teeth. If you’re considering dental implants in Aberdeen, NJ, our implant dentist, William Moskowitz, DDS, FAGD, LLC, would be happy to discuss your options with you.

• To restore a patient’s confident smile.
• To restore normal chewing, speech, and digestion.
• To restore or enhance facial tissues.
• To support a bridge or denture, making them more secure and comfortable.
• If you need to replace missing teeth or a single tooth, implants are a stable, permanent solution.

Our Implant Dentistry

If you need to replace a missing tooth or teeth, implants are a stable solution that can be achieved with minimal discomfort. Dental implants can also be used to secure full or partial dentures, providing a more comfortable fit and stable platform for your dentures. Dental implants are metal fixtures made out of titanium that are placed within the jawbone with surgical precision. Once they are placed, implants allow the bone to bond with the implant through a process called osseointegration. When osseointegration is complete, a dental implant dentist will place a custom abutment on the top of the dental implant to which a permanent implant crown is placed.

Some patients are ready to have implants placed right away, but some may need extractions or other procedures first. To determine your dental implant treatment path, William Moskowitz, DDS, FAGD, LLC, begins every dental implant case with an evaluation to build your unique treatment plan, and to determine if you’re a good candidate for dental implants.

If your individual case requires extractions or other dental procedures such as a bone graft, we generally wait three months for you to heal before proceeding with dental implants. After the healing process, Dr. Moskowitz takes impressions, X-rays, and study models so he can create a comprehensive roadmap for your treatment. Once the dental implant treatment plan is created, Dr. Moskowitz creates a surgical guide and refers your case to a trusted oral surgeon or periodontist with whom he has built a long-term relationship.

Dr. Moskowitz’s surgical guide is made from study models and directs the surgeon where to place the dental implant. Three months after the surgeon has placed the dental implant, Dr. Moskowitz will place the custom abutment and implant crown, both of which go on top of the dental implant. All abutments and crowns used by our practice are made in America.
